Art, Views, and Inspiration: A Memorable Evening at Tallinn TV Tower with Mery Crystal Ra

This Thursday, we visited together with the residents of Pirita Südamekodu and Vilmsi Kodu one of Tallinn’s landmarks—the Tallinn TV Tower. We were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff, breathtaking views, and the star of the evening, artist Mery Crystal Ra, whose solo exhibition “Invisible” is open at the TV Tower until the end of the year.
The event began with a lecture where the artist introduced her life and creative journey in the 3rd-floor auditorium before the exhibition tour. Participants listened with great interest.
Mery’s connection with the TV Tower goes back in history. Already in 1985, she created a futuristic light and glass sculpture on the viewing platform. This was considered a work ahead of its time in both concept and materials. Today’s exhibition is inspired by that and spread across different floors of the Tower.
A big thank you to the TV Tower team, who made movement easy and safe, helping the elderly with lifts and access to rooms, and installing ramps for those with walking aids. This also made our volunteers’ work much easier. It was a memorable experience not only for the elderly but also for the volunteers and caregivers.
This is also proven by the fact that Mery’s works have been exhibited at the European Parliament, UNESCO world events, and international high-level conferences.
Our thanks also go to our brave volunteer drivers, who helped solve logistical challenges and drove several times between the Tower and the homes to make sure all residents returned safely by the end of the evening. Until the next meetings!
